Rough Design Sketches (Farah)

Usage of slanted roof for daylighting. An entrance kind of enveloped by walls for a sense of privacy. Still trying to figure out where to place windows in a place that wouldn't let other people creep in on the writer.

  1. Quickly:
-prismatic design is all about the object and less about the architecture; it doesn't align with what you had intended earlier
-the more conservative design is engaging but suffers from spatial sprawl; you'll see when you draw to scale
-a fundamental problem with many student designs is that everyone seems to want to design a spectacular box and then fill it with the appropriate program; strongbox designs do not work that way; think about the intention and begin designing something that clearly speaks to those issues; for example, if it is about seamless mess with the context then articulate why this would be useful to a writer and the specifics of the site and then correlate the initial design with those factors
